In Stitches + Charts Category I show simple crochet diagrams that do not require detailed Tutorials and, I think, be understandable even for beginner crocheters.
Chain a multiple of 5 plus 4.
Row #1. 4 dc in 5, 6, 7, 8 loop from the hook. * Ch 1, skip ch, 4 dc in the next 4 dc. Repeat from * across. 1 dc in last ch.
Row #2. Work ch 1. Turn. 1 sc in first dc, ch 4, skip 4 dc, * 1 sc in ch between groups of dc, ch 4, skip 4 dc. Repeat from * across. Sc in third ch of the previous row.
Row #3. Work ch 3. Turn. 4 dc in the arch of 4-ch, skip 4 dc,* 1 sc in ch between groups of dc, ch 4, skip 4 dc. Repeat from * across. 1 dc in last sc of the previous row.
Repeat rows #2-3.
